INCA OMEGA OIL® unique properties
The skin's primary function is to form an effective, protective barrier against any physical, chemical and microbiological stress.
The epidermis requires 3 main types of lipids to perform its barrier function: Ceramides, Cholesterol and Poly-unsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFAs).
If these lipids are tightly packed into the spaces between the keratinocytes, the skin barrier is functional, so the environmental irritants cannot penetrate the skin and enter the body. On the contrary, if there is a disruption in the quantity or tightness of the intercellular lipids, the skin barrier becomes permeable…
The essential fatty acids are the poly-unsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and are necessary for good health!

INCA OMEGA OIL® has the highest amounts of poly-unsaturated fatty acids and a cutaneous regulator role:
-
Limits TEWL
-
Maintains skin hydration and elasticity
-
Stimulates healing
-
Regulates keratinization
INCA OMEGA OIL® has also a high concentration of tocopherols, not found at other botanical oils!
Tocopherols are the main substances with anti-oxidant activity found naturally at seed oils. There are 4 chemical forms called alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocopherol. It is quite significant the high concentration of delta and gamma tocopherols found at INCA OMEGA OIL®.
