Indufence® is an active ingredient rich in purified alisma peptides.

This plant-derived ingredient works in a similar way to probiotics on the skin, helping to maintain balance and protection.
Probiotics are beneficial live microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, that naturally inhabit our skin. They feed on sweat, sebum, and dead skin cells, offering protection by preventing harmful bacteria from taking over.
The skin’s primary role is to act as a robust barrier against physical, chemical, and microbiological stress, a function carried out by the epidermis—particularly the Stratum Corneum, the outermost layer of the skin.
Two key defenses work together to create the skin’s first line of defense: the mechanical barrier and the immune biological barrier, both essential to the overall epidermal barrier.
- The mechanical barrier is formed by the unique structure of the Stratum Corneum and the cohesion of corneocytes. Its main function is to preserve skin hydration.
- The immune biological barrier regulates the entry and growth of foreign microorganisms and, when necessary, activates a swift immune response to protect the skin.

By a similar mechanism to that of a probiotic, Indufence® stimulates both the mechanical and the biological barriers, and thereby reinforces the skin’s overall barrier function!

- Increases the cohesion of the keratinocytes of the epidermis, and thereby restructures the skin's mechanical barrier
- Improves the skin’s biological barrier, contributing to the production of the anti-microbial peptides of the skin (hBD2), while modulating the inflammatory response caused by the presence of St. aureus, the main pathogen that colonizes the atopic skin.
